Care Unit Ghana (“Care Unit”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides first-aid training, occupational health and safety training, and first-aid kits and related products. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information when you visit careunit.org, contact us, register for training or make a purchase.
Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, telephone number, organisation or school, billing and delivery address, course or product selections, communications, order and transaction details, and technical information such as IP address, device data and cookies. We do not receive or store your full card details. Payments are processed securely by Paystack and other authorised payment providers under their own privacy notices.
How we use information
We use information to answer enquiries; register and communicate with trainees; fulfil, deliver and support orders; issue invoices, receipts and certificates; process payments, refunds and disputes; improve our website and services; prevent fraud; keep business records; and comply with Ghanaian law and regulatory obligations.
Legal grounds and consent
We process information where necessary to perform a contract, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate business interests, or where you have given consent. You may withdraw consent for optional communications at any time.
Sharing
We may share only the information necessary with payment processors such as Paystack, delivery providers, hosting and website-service providers, professional advisers, regulators and law-enforcement bodies where required. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and analytics
Our website may use essential, preference, analytics and ecommerce cookies. You can restrict cookies in your browser, although some checkout and account features may not work correctly.
Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes above and applicable accounting, tax, payment and legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Subject to Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to Ghana’s Data Protection Commission. Some records may be retained where the law requires it.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside Ghana. Where this occurs, we require appropriate safeguards and disclose payment-related transfers as required.
Children
A parent, guardian, school or authorised organisation should provide consent where information about a child is submitted for training or an order.
Changes
We may update this policy and will post the revised effective date on this page.
